Community Supported/Shared Agriculture (CSA) program:

To be part of a CSA means to purchase a farm “membership” in the springtime prior to the start date and enjoy a weekly basket of naturally grown produce over a period of several weeks in the spring, summer and fall.

There are 3 sizes:

The Mini:  3-4 items, varies by week, perfect for a vegetable lover or 2 people.

The Medium: 5+ items, varies by week, perfect for vegetable lover or a small family.

The Large: 2 x Medium baskets + any extras, perfect for a vegetable lover's family!

Rhizome Farms produce is:

  • Naturally grown (no chemical fertilizers, herbicide, pesticide, no sprays and growing untreated seeds)

  • Veganic (wildlife, ecosystem inhabitants treated with respect)

  • Ecological (grown without mono-cropping, instead using crop rotation and supporting soil health)

  • Grown on site in St. Catharines, with no re-selling - (sometimes baskets contain items organically grown from friend's farms in the Niagara region, should they have a surplus of something tasty that I know you would enjoy!)

Benefits of being in a CSA program:

  • Make sure you and your family are eating their veggies!

  • Support the local environment and economy

  • Support the health of yourself and your family

  • Try new types of produce, new recipes and discover new favourites: "like getting a surprise loot bag for veggie lovers"

  • Consume ethically produced food

  • Develop community and meet like minded people

Recognizing that the land the farm occupies has been traditionally stewarded by the Haudenosaunee and Anishinaabe peoples, and home to many First Nations, Metis and Inuit people.  Continuing to respect and honour the stewards of the land and moving forward together.
